VirtualBox 5.0.12 Mac OS X
VirtualBox – cross-platform, free application virtualization from the company Innotek, which allows to install on your Mac, virtually any operating system. VirtualBox is actively developed with frequent updates and has a growing list of features, supported guest operating systems and platforms, with whom he works. VirtualBox is a community effort with the support of spin-off companies: everyone is invited to contribute in while Oracle ensures that the product professional quality criteria.
Features:
- High-speed performance
- Cross-platform
- VirtualBox can run as a GUI-interface or via command line.
- To expand the functions of the program, a special set of SDK.
- Parameters of virtual machines are described in XML format and does not depend on the physical computer on which the system operates. So VMs format VirtalBox easily transferred from one PC to another.
- When using the “guest” computer operating systems, Windows or Linux, you can use special tools which substantially facilitate switching between the physical and virtual computers.
- For a quick exchange of files between the guest and the physical PC, you can create so-called “shared folders” (Shared folders), which are simultaneously accessible from both of these machines.
- VirtualBox allows you to connect USB-devices to virtual machines, allowing virtual machines to work with them directly.
- VirtualBox fully supports the remote access RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol). The virtual machine can operate as a RDP-server, allowing you to manage it remotely.
New in version 5.0
- Mode support paravirtualization for guest operating systems Windows and Linux: a significant improvement in the performance of guest operating systems by using the built-in support virtualization on Oracle Linux and Microsoft Windows 7 and 7 above;
- Optimized CPU usage: the implementation of a wide range of instructions to the CPU in the guest OS, allowing applications to use the latest instructions to the hardware for maximum performance;
- Device Support USB 3.0: guest operating systems can now directly recognize USB 3.0 devices and run at full speed. The guest can be customized specifications support USB 1.1, 2.0, 3.0;
- Supports two-way mode drag and drop to share content between the guest OS and the host system.Drag and drop feature allows you to transparently and easily copy or open files, folders, etc .;
- Encrypting disk images: the data can be encrypted in a virtual disk images directly while working via industry-standard algorithm AES, supports encryption key size of 256 bits. A new feature guarantees the safety of the encrypted data in periods of activity, and in a simple virtual machine.
